Press Release · July 13, 2026
Gordon joins Westminster University beginning fall 2026, leading a program he describes as "full of potential" with a season centered on Fate and Destiny.
INDIANAPOLIS, IN — July 13, 2026
Eva Artistic Management is pleased to announce that Gabriel Gordon has been named Conductor of the Westminster Chamber Orchestra at Westminster University, effective fall 2026. Gordon, a conductor and violinist known for his work with ballet companies and orchestras across the country, will take the podium for the ensemble’s opening semester beginning this fall.
Gordon’s inaugural program reflects a theme he has titled “Fate and Destiny,” drawing on three works from the core orchestral canon: the Overture to Verdi’s La Forza del Destino, Wagner’s Siegfried Idyll, and Beethoven’s Symphony No. 5. The program moves from operatic fate to intimate reflection to Beethoven’s signature struggle-to-triumph arc — a coherent and compelling opening statement for a new musical tenure.

Westminster University’s music program and the Westminster Chamber Orchestra are known for their strong faculty, dedicated students, and close ties to the surrounding community. Gordon has expressed enthusiasm for building on that foundation over the long term, working alongside faculty, students, and community members to help the program grow.
Gordon expressed particular gratitude to Kimi Kawashima and Brandon Derfler for bringing him to this role and for their support throughout the process.
